Weddings @ St Paul’s
Marriage is a sacrament between two people.
The Wedding Service is held on Saturdays only.
The wedding service held at St Paul’s is a traditional Anglican Service with traditional music. It is always conducted by a member of the Parish Clergy or, by permission of the Rector, another Anglican clergyman. A minister from another Christian denomination may participate in the service at the discretion of the Rector.
For more information about Weddings @ St Paul’s, please contact the Parish Office on 02 9747 4327 between 10.00am to 2.00pm Wednesday to Friday.
Preparation
Before proceeding with your preparations you will need to contact our Office Secretary to look at available dates and times. We request that you do not book the reception centre before you check that the church and a priest are available when you would like them.
The couple to be married will be required to meet with the priest beforehand. Certain documents will need to be cited at this meeting. These include baptism certificates for both parties.
A notice of intended marriage will need to be completed. This form can be found here.
Wedding Package
A deposit of $500 is required at the time of booking to reserve your date in the parish calendar.
An additional $2,500* which covers the hire of the Church, the Priest, the Organist and some flowers (by prior arrangement) and a bond is to be paid at least 2 months prior to the wedding date.
The bond of $500 (included above) will be refunded if the following has been adhered to
- The Bride arrives on time
- The church and grounds are left clean and tidy
- No food is permitted either inside or outside the church
- No rubbish is left in the Church, the grounds or the hall, including food, drinks, wrappers, cigarettes or vapes etc
All rubbish must be taken away with you.
If you wish to serve food after the wedding, please check with the office regarding the availability of the hall (for an additional hire fee)
Music
St Paul’s Davidson Organ will add a very special quality to your wedding service. All music must be approved by the music department and will ordinarily be provided by a parish organist. Visiting organists must be approved by the Director of Music.
The following suggestions are made for music selection within the wedding service:
- Incidental music before the service begins
- The bridal procession
- The signing of the register
- The departure of the bridal party
- Incidental music while the guests leave the church
